"FLOAT” to Success
"Passion is a powerful driving force for turning dreams into reality”
says Roz Sullivan, founder of FLOAT

Roz Sullivan, of West London, is passionate about her work. She is an inspiration to anyone who needs the courage to fulfil their dreams. Her love for complimentary therapies, entirely natural beauty products and holistic exercise has been uniquely combined with a natural talent for design and creating relaxing space.  This experience has culminated in her first commercial venture to date - London's premier new Floatation Centre due to open late September 2005!

"People often ask me how I decided what business to run,” says Roz.  "The answer is simple, I just took everything I feel passionately about and created the 'recipe' for FLOAT.”

The finished floatation centre will also feature many other activities and treatments to relax and pamper the patrons.  The 'recipe' for FLOAT:

• Four state of the art Floatation tanks
• Holistic Fitness Studio offering classes in yoga, meditation, wing chun kung fu and pilates
• Living Nature Beauty Treatments
• Complementary therapies including massage, reiki and aromatherapy
• Happy and healthy staff with a passion for holistic living
• Uniquely peaceful environment featuring rich warm colours and illustrations
• Keep it green - FLOAT will operate as an environmentally responsible business

Discovering her vocation
It was during one of those contemplative times of life that Roz first discovered floatation therapy.  She found herself literally 'killing time' temping at Universal Studios at her wit's end trying to decide what to do with her life.  A friend suggested trying a float session to give her space to think.

"The sense of peace that I felt in the tank was followed by a truly calm state of mind that lasted for a few days after each session,” explains Roz.  "Ironically it was during one of my regular floatation sessions that I discovered my dream vocation - to open my own float and relaxation centre.”

The road to FLOAT has been as challenging and fun as any would-be entrepreneur may imagine.  Market research, financial planning and strategic decisions were all needed for the business plan to secure funding for the venture.  This process took about six months but it was finding the right location that turned out to be the most time consuming element.

"Never underestimate how long finding the right location can take,” advises Roz.  "I held out over many 'just OK' places and now couldn't be happier.  The old bakery in Bridstow Place is simply perfect in terms of potential custom and it's such a quirky building, I knew it was perfect.”

In true entrepreneurial style, the architectural blueprint for FLOAT was prepared by Roz drawing on her civil engineering training and years of designing site layouts for the Mean Fiddler outdoor events & festivals   The logo and interior décor are to be a family affair with the help of Roz's mother who is flying in from Melbourne, Australia specially to share her skills as a professional artist.  The finished centre promises to be uniquely warm and inviting with a truly personal touch.
