'OLD BAKERY' TRANSFORMED INTO A SEA OF CALM
Roz Sullivan, a West London resident, is currently working on a complete refurbishment of the old bakery at 2A Bridstow Place (just off Westbourne Grove) into London's new premier floatation and relaxation centre. Scheduled to open in October 2005, FLOAT will feature:
• Four state of the art floatation tanks
• A holistic fitness studio offering yoga, pilates, wing chun kung fu and meditation
• Living Nature beauty treatment rooms
• Complementary therapies including massage, reiki and aromatherapy
Why FLOAT?
Floatation therapy is an incredibly effective anti-dote to the stress and strain of modern day city life. The deep state of relaxation reached during a one hour session is equal to four hours normal sleep. Experience shows that floatation therapy is very beneficial in treating a myriad of problems such as stress, muscle injuries, back pain, arthritis, rheumatism, insomnia, migraines and even jet lag. Floatation therapy is actively endorsed by the UK Back Pain Association and the Arthritic Association.
Holistic Fitness
The holistic fitness studio on the ground floor will be flooded with natural light either through the panelled windows being installed the length of the front wall or, on those rare and beautiful UK summer-days, the entire studio front can be opened onto the quiet street for an open air exercise experience.
Yoga, pilates and wing chun kung fu all offer the participant excellent meditative benefits as well as a thorough work-out. Combine with a floatation session to distance all your worldly worries and feel about 2 inches taller!
Natural Beauty Lives
Living Nature products have been chosen for the FLOAT beauty treatment rooms because they are 100 per cent pure and natural, feel amazing on your skin and deliver outstanding performance. All the products are organic, GM free, naturally preserved, paraben and synthetic free, and presented in recyclable packaging that is dioxin and chlorine free. Furthermore, both FLOAT and Living Nature share key goals to be sustainable, ecological and inspirational enterprises.
Kitty Erickson, UK Living Nature Training Manager, will be available once a month for one-on-one consultations, problem skin clinics and invaluable beauty advice. Her incredible facial treatments are set to become the most highly prized appointment in the area - so book early!
Complementary Therapies
Anyone who enjoys massage and complementary therapies will appreciate the importance of a truly experienced practitioner. FLOAT has a policy to only offer therapies from practitioners who are specialists in their field so all clients can rest assured that they are in safe, experienced hands.
Living in harmony with the environment
FLOAT will be run as an environmentally responsible business across all aspects, from the recycling of refuse, to shampoos, towels and stationary.
The float tank rooms will feature John Masters Organics hair care products to add a luxurious, sensory dimension to round off the complete floatation experience. The range won the "Best New Organic Product Range 2004 in the Organic Product Awards 2004.
