What to Expect

A floatation session will last one hour and 20 minutes including time to shower and dress.

On arrival you will be welcomed by a member of the float team, given comfortable slippers and a luxurious towel and shown to the private floatation suite of your choice.  Individual artwork distinguishes each of the four floatation suites at float.

Floatation therapy is a very personal experience that has strong recuperative benefits for mind and body, yet just following a few simple guidelines will help you get the most out of every float.  We recommend a short shower before your float to wash off the outside world.  Nothing is the best thing to wear for a float as the sensation of your swimming costume can detract from the experience.

Ten minutes of relaxing music will ease you into the float session.  It usually takes about 15 minutes to enter the first stage of deep relaxation and the remaining 45 minutes pass quickly, effortlessly and pleasurably.  The end of your float session will be signalled by the re-introduction of music.

Once inside the floatation tank you have complete control of your environment.  The light switch and control for the door are within fingertip reach.  Not everyone wants to close the door at first but as you relax you can try closing it safe in the knowledge you can re-open it at any time.

Time to take another shower and this time enjoy the beautiful Living Nature shower gel and John Masters Organics shampoos to wash off all the skin softening Epsom salts.  Hairdryers are available in the main changing rooms.

If you are float-combining with another treatment you will be given a robe and can move straight into the therapist's treatment room.  Or, if you are preparing to re-enter the outside world, complementary fresh water and herbal teas are always ready for you downstairs.  We always recommend you relax with us for some time after your float whenever you can to maximise the recuperative benefits.
